Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), also known as chronic hives, is a condition characterized by hives, swelling, or both for more than 6 weeks.

We partnered with 2 patients with CSU—Lisa and Emmeka—as well as medical expert Dr. Payel Gupta and relationship/intimacy coordinator Shan Boodram, to share their journeys with CSU, celebrate self-love, and practice self-advocacy.
